Factory or trading company
Whether a Turkish supplier is a factory or a trading company can be checked from outside. Resolve the tax number in the Turkish Exporters' Assembly lookup, read whose name is on the chamber-issued capacity report, and stand on the floor. The test is not ours. A Turkish FF&E supplier publishes it on its own site, written for hotel owners: "In-house production. Confirm the supplier owns its workshop. Many 'suppliers' are trading companies outsourcing to third parties, leading to inconsistent quality and no accountability." Running it is harder than reading it, because every supplier has a photograph of a machine and a reseller can buy a photograph faster than a factory can build a room. What separates the two is the narrow answer: which room type, how many pieces, in which building, and who signed the finish off. The questions below are the narrow ones. Ours are answered in the third column, and where there is no answer the column says so.
The questions, and our answers
Read the last column first. Two of these seven settle without us: a Turkish company's exporters'-union membership and its chamber registration are both public, free and resolvable from a tax number alone. The rest need a document or a visit, and the column names which.

The floor in Gemlik
5,000 m² of production floor in Gemlik, Bursa, running under our own production management. Board arrives at the yard door on pallets and goes to the sliding table saw. Carcass parts are machined on the CNC router, drilled on the vertical boring machine, and assembled one unit at a time. Veneer, lacquer and paint go on in our own spray booths. Frames, foam and fabric are cut, sewn and fitted in the upholstery bay upstairs, next to the fabric and foam store.
It is one building, so a finish revision moves through one shop instead of five subcontractors and its effect on the date is one number instead of five. Packing and container loading happen on the same site, at the packing bench and the yard door, which is why nothing changes hands between the saw and the container.
The showroom is 350 m² and holds 8 model rooms. They get built, shown and rebuilt against live specifications rather than standing finished all year, so what is in them on the day you visit depends on what is being approved that month. The process those rooms exist for has a page of its own.
What the registry says, and what it does not
Four identifiers, and they do different jobs. The tax number is 6271644768, at the Gemlik tax office. The trade registry number is 6993. The MERSİS number is 0627164476800001. The limited company was registered in Türkiye on 11 February 2025; manufacturing in Türkiye under this team runs to about five years, and the El-Naggar carpentry business in Egypt goes back a good deal further than either.
Only one of those numbers resolves for a stranger. MERSİS satisfies Turkish company law on commercial correspondence, and nothing public resolves it, so printing it as proof of anything is theatre. The tax number is the one that works: TİM's membership lookup takes it alone, free and without an account, and returns the legal name, the exporters' union and the member registry number, with a button that generates a certificate. Chamber registration is the second free check, and it is a different record from the first. Ours is Gemlik Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and TOBB publishes chamber member registers nationally, searchable by company name. Search Gemlik rather than Bursa: the chamber belongs to the town, and a Bursa search returns nothing, which is the sort of null result that reads as an absence when it is only the wrong drawer.
The programmes, named
Marriott Belgrade is the one with a quantity attached: approximately 1,500 pieces, two custom guestroom types and the restaurant, delivered to Belgrade by road. It is the only project on this site carrying a piece count, and it carries one because there is a published record behind it. The rest are named without numbers rather than given plausible ones.
The others are set out the same way, by operator, city and scope, on a page each: Mövenpick Istanbul, Hilton Garden Inn Jeddah, DoubleTree by Hilton Jeddah, Moonlight Hotel in Jeddah, Citadines Hotel Apartments for The Ascott, Rotana Georgia, Holiday Inn Al Khobar for IHG. Accor, Hilton, Marriott, Rotana, Ascott and IHG standards have all governed a scope we manufactured to.
The phrasing on each of them is the same and it is deliberate: delivered for the programme, our work installed in the property. What a brand review passed was the specification and the build, project by project, which is a smaller claim than the one a reference wall usually makes and a good deal easier to check.
Capacity, and the document that answers it
This page publishes no monthly output figure. What answers that question properly is a document rather than an adjective, and Türkiye happens to issue one.
The Kapasite Raporu is a capacity report issued by a manufacturer's local chamber and approved by TOBB, prepared in the Sanayi Bilgi Sistemi and e-signed by the inspecting engineer, the chamber and TOBB, with a QR code on it. The figure is derived from a physical inspection of the machine park by a named engineer using one of five published methods, and it is calculated at eight hours a day over three hundred days a year. That is a single shift, which is the most useful thing to know about any capacity number a Turkish factory quotes. Where a plant runs two or three shifts, the chamber determines that separately and issues it as its own letter.
Two more properties of the document are worth having before you ask for one. It states a theoretical maximum and never a promised throughput, so it belongs in a risk column rather than in a programme. And TOBB's rules bar issuing one to a firm that has its work done on a toll basis, which is what makes it worth asking a Turkish supplier for at all. Our own answer to the capacity question is not a document. It is the floor: come to Gemlik, walk the stations in the order the material moves, and count the machines yourself.
Certificates, and the question that gets a usable answer
Fire performance is a property of a build-up rather than of a company: this foam, with this fabric, over this frame. Emission class belongs to the board and is declared by the panel supplier. So the instruction that gets a usable answer from a factory is the standard your specification or your operator requires, and what comes back is a build-up specified to meet it, with the test papers issued against that build-up and priced in the quotation.
There is a verification test here too, and it applies to every Turkish supplier including this one. TÜRKAK's public verifier takes a certificate number: there is a type selector and a two-part certificate number, and no field to type a manufacturer's name into. A supplier who answers a certification question with a standard number and nothing else has therefore told you nothing you can act on. Ask for the issuing body, the certificate number, the scope wording and the expiry date, then check those four at the issuer. Anyone holding them sends them the same afternoon.
It is worth reading the hedge in the published procurement scopes as well. One consultant's scope prequalifies suppliers who "conform(where appropriate) to ISO standards (9001 & 14001) & use western managed quality control systems", and applies its separate five-star reference requirement to products rather than to suppliers. Read as written it is a qualified preference, not a gate, which is a different weight from the one the acronym usually carries in a first meeting.
Bond, bank reference and insurance
No bonding capacity, no bank reference and no liability limit is stated on this page. Those belong on your intake form and in a signed document, and no supplier's financial standing should be read off a web page.
One structural fact is worth having before that conversation, because a US broker will find it anyway. Turkish policy wording has no counterpart to the American additional-insured endorsement. The standard Turkish third-party liability wording also excludes, by default, claims brought in a court outside Türkiye, and it excludes damage the insured's own crew causes to the building they are working in, which is the most likely real claim on a hotel fit-out.
Both of those are contractable around by name rather than by endorsement form: the foreign-court exclusion sits on a list the policy itself marks as variable by agreement, and the building-damage exposure is normally carried on an erection and installation policy with the relevant clause added, with multi-party cover coming from naming the parties in the policy and adding cross-liability. The honest move with a foreign broker is to price that substitute package and explain the legal reason for it, rather than to promise an endorsement that Türkiye does not issue.
What a page cannot settle
A web page is not a record. Verification means a second document held by somebody with no interest in the sale: a tax registry, a union membership, a chamber register, a customs entry, an operator confirming a delivery. Everything in the third column of the table above is our own account of ourselves and carries the weight any supplier's own account carries. The fourth column is the part that does not depend on us, which is why it is the column worth reading first, and why the two free lookups are printed here with their inputs rather than described.
The thirty-second check
The strongest evidence on this page costs thirty seconds and does not involve us: put the tax number into TİM's lookup and read what comes back.
