Russia & CIS

Into the Union, the document travels with the product.

Hotel FF&E for Russia and the CIS, from Türkiye

We manufacture hotel interiors in Gemlik, Bursa — guestroom casegoods, architectural joinery and upholstery, with soft furnishings supplied in the same package and installation managed by us on site. A project in Russia or the wider Eurasian Economic Union differs from a European one in one structural way, and it is the way most suppliers meet late: furniture cannot be placed on the market without a conformity document issued under the Union's own technical regulation, and that document is registered by a party established inside the Union — not by the factory that built the furniture.

What TR CU 025/2012 actually requires

The technical regulation on the safety of furniture products applies across the Union and is mandatory for manufacturers and importers alike. It decides whether a consignment may be sold, not merely whether it can be landed — which is why it belongs in the first meeting rather than in the shipping conversation.

Almost everything is declared, not certified

Furniture for adults — guestroom casegoods, seating, tables, joinery units — is covered by a declaration of conformity registered against the product. The validity period follows the conformity-assessment scheme chosen and the applicant's status, and it cannot run beyond five years.

Children's furniture is the exception

Furniture for children — domestic, pre-school and educational — takes a certificate rather than a declaration. It is a different and slower route, and it is worth catching while a family-suite or apartment specification is still open.

The evidence sits underneath the document

A declaration is a statement supported by test evidence, in the same way a BS 7176 declaration is in the United Kingdom. We manufacture to the named build-up and supply the reports and product documentation the declaration rests on.

Fire performance is a separate naming

GOST R 53294-2009 is the Russian ignitability test for soft furniture elements, bedding and curtains against low-calorie ignition sources; GOST 19917-2014 is the general specification for furniture for sitting and lying, and is a product standard rather than a fire test. Both are named against the composite you specify.

Fire performance is a separate naming

Who does what

Registering the declaration belongs to a party established in the Union — the importer, or an authorised representative acting for a foreign manufacturer. We are a Turkish manufacturer and do not file it, in the same way we do not file SABER in Saudi Arabia. What we carry is the part underneath: manufacturing to the standards your specification names, and the test evidence and product documentation the declaration rests on. Duty and clearance are quoted by your broker against the tariff in force — a supplier who quotes you a Union duty rate from memory is guessing.

How a project in the Union runs

  1. 01

    Specification and drawings

A room schedule, an FF&E list or the architect's set is enough to start.

  2. 02

    Standards named up front

Fire standard, emission class and the conformity route, fixed before production — they are build-up decisions, not paperwork decisions.

  3. 03

    Model room

Built and signed off before the line opens. Every room after it is measured against the approved room, not the drawing.

  4. 04

    Production and QC

Under our own production management in Gemlik.

  5. 05

    Sequenced loading

Containers labelled by room number, so installation starts on the first container.

  6. 06

    Installation

Managed by us on site, through to a finished room.

Common questions

Do you have a Russian entity?
No. The declaration of conformity is registered by a party established in the Union — normally the importer, or an authorised representative acting for us. That is the correct structure for a foreign manufacturer, not a workaround for the absence of one.
Have you delivered projects in Russia?
Not yet. Our delivered programmes are in the Gulf, Europe and beyond, and the reference book names each one with its operator, city and the scope we delivered. A project here would be the first, built on the same floor by the same people.
Who registers the declaration?
The importer or the authorised representative files it. We manufacture to the named standards and supply the documentation and test evidence behind it.
Can you meet the GOST fire requirements?
Name the standard in the specification and the build-up is engineered to meet it, with the evidence produced against the approved composite. GOST R 53294-2009 sits alongside EN 1021 and BS 5852 in the way we specify upholstery.
Which language do we work in?
Russian, English, Arabic and Turkish. Russia and the CIS have a named regional manager, and correspondence, drawings and the quotation come back in Russian.
Can we visit before ordering?
Yes. The production floor and the showroom are one building in Gemlik, thirty minutes from Bursa. Model rooms are built there and walked through, and we build one for your project before production opens. If getting there is difficult, a member of staff walks you through the rooms by video.

Send the specification.

A room schedule or a drawing set is enough to start. We come back with the scope we cover and what the first room takes to build.
